Vuyo Nkadimeng, Senior Full Stack Development Manager at Alpha and founder of Quantyx

Vuyo Nkadimeng is a Johannesburg engineering leader working where regulated financial services meets applied AI. As Senior Full Stack Development Manager at Alpha he runs delivery for platform and product engineering teams — work that won him Manager of the Year in 2025 and Marketing Employee of the Year in 2024.

As founder and director of Quantyx he builds native iOS and macOS software under the line “precision software for the intelligence era”, with seven apps live on the App Store. The largest of them is LedgerAI, an AI governance and compliance platform co-founded with Zanele Simelane, live since December 2025 and used by 21 companies. It runs the regulated half of its work on-device: as he put it to ITWeb, “your data never leaves your environment, and we only ever receive what you have cryptographically approved.”

He is a top-five finalist in the Banking & Financial Services category of the 2026 TransUnion Rising Star Awards, a co-award winner in the Presidential African Youth in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Competition, a member of IITPSA, and co-founder and chair of TEACHIST — the free learning platform he built with his brother Edward in 2020, which national press covered at launch.

He writes publicly, and often, about engineering management: what middle management actually costs, which decisions are genuinely reversible, and why sovereignty is not a compliance checkbox but an architecture decision South African institutions are making by default rather than on purpose.
